Introduce students to life and workplace skills by identifying individual values, aptitudes, interests, talents, and current occupational abilities.
Students learn communication theory and have the opportunity to develop practical skills for both professional and social communication.
Christina Zientek and Robin Shinn
Students will learn fundamental keyboarding and computer applications skills. Keyboard specifics will be reinforced. Students will also learn computer applications that will help them as they progress through high school. Topics covered will include multimedia, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation programs. In addition, students will learn the basics of the Internet including web safety and web based research.
Students will learn to plan, prepare, research, analyze and develop speaking skills. All students will participate in several individual speaking categories: impromptu speaking, extemporaneous speaking, oratory, and oral interpretation. Students will be expected to attend area debate competitions outside the regular school day.
Technology Lab is designed to support learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math all while creating a foundation for future technical education and life application. Students investigate multiple STEM and career fields while engaged in multimedia instruction with hands-on experiments and building projects.
Explore and experience the linguistic skills of Spanish, German, and French.
Coach Harper and Coach Gilliam
Take Human Services to experience a hands-on learning environment as we learn about nutrition, families, careers, money, communication and much more! You will love our hands-on computer modules that teach on many of the educational parts to Human Services as you complete projects and experiments working together with a partner. This is a semester course.
Coach Azios, Coach Warren-Harris and Coach Harper
This course develops business, professional, and leadership skills. Students learn the importance of principle-centered living, how to handle peer pressure, communicating effectively, building meaningful relationships, making responsible decisions and the importance of goals.
