Washington Junior High

Leah Hartley, 8th Grade Counselor

1q02427As a counselor at Washington Jr. High, I will work with students, parents, school staff, and the community to assist students in their education. I am devoted to helping every student realize their full potential while exploring their educational opportunities. It is my objective to create a safe and supportive environment that allows each student to develop their educational and career goals.

I received both my Bachelors of Science and my Masters of Education in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I taught a variety of classes at Magnolia High School then went to Huntsville I.S.D. for four years as a counselor at Mance Park Middle School. This is my seventh year at Washington Jr. High and I am honored to be here.

Deanna Perez, 7th Grade Counselor

1Q01028My job as a Counselor is to help guide students through their educational journey. I believe this is accomplished through support, encouragement, and exploring choices that are available to everyone. My goal is to help students learn to adjust to and cope with the changes, challenges and accomplishments they face throughout their educational journey.

I received my Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Houston. After working for a number of years in the medical field, my career path led me to education. I taught Math and Science for eight years, all in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.

I earned my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University. This is my ninth year as a member of the Washington Bulldog family and I am honored to serve as the 7th Grade Counselor.
